From 1969, here is Zeta One aka The Love Factor. This barrell-scraping sci-fi sexploitation cult trash stars the babelicious Yutte Stensgaard, the absolutely delicious Carol Hawkins (in her acting debut), Dawn Addams, the supremely luscious Valerie Leon, Anna Gaël, Brigitte Skay, Robin Hawdon and, infamously, none other than "Sir Lancelot Spratt" himself James Robertson Justice (in one of his final roles) and Carry On legend Charles Hawtrey. You will most likely watch this and wonder what the hell Justice and Hawtrey are doing in a film like this!
The plot: One part James Bond and one part "Barbarella," this wild sci-fi/espionage thriller follows a secret agent as he battles (and often beds) a race of Amazonians (and often topless) alien babes out to conquer the Earth.
Trivia: James Robertson Justice's complete apathy towards appearing in the film is all up there on screen, he clearly hasn't learnt the script. At one stage director Michael Cort reportedly had to tape Justice's dialogue to the actor's trouser leg. Cheekily, during the scene in question Cort inserts leery shots of a girl's thighs to 'explain' Robertson Justice's motivation for spending much of the scene glancing down!
Zeta One is purely awful, nonsensical and a total must-see for fans of trashy bad cinema. My kind of film then! It has it's good points though - and they mainly belong to the likes of Valerie Leon, Carol Hawkins and Yutte Stensgaar, if you catch my drift. It's especially worth seeing for Carol Hawkins in a rare topless scene. If you want to see how desperate James Robertson Justice and Charles Hawtrey seemed to be for work in 1969 then look no further!...
