Look-In - 26 September 1981

CosmoBells' great pal Eddy has scanned another quality golden oldie from the world of British magazines. Last time it was editions of the TV Times from 1979 and 1983. Now, as you can see, this time it's a superb edition of one of my childhood magazine/comic favourites: Look-In from September 1981! Subtitled the "Junior TV Times" (remember the great little tv guide at the back with all the classic ITV franchise logos?), Look-In was the perfect kid's tv show magazine packed with everything from comic strips based on popular tv shows to articles and posters featuring the "in" popstars and sportstars of the day. I have to mention that I had the above edition and I had been buying the magazine on regular order from it's first issue to some point hitting towards the mid-80s before I ended up just buying the occasional issue now and again. Like a lot of you out there who are of my generation, I also had quite a few of the annuals and both me and my brother had many of the tv show annuals as Christmas presents back in the day such as CB-TV Channel 14, Freetime and Magpie (to name but three!). Anyway, back to this Look-In... Features in this edition include, amongst others: a comic strip adaption of the Beatles story, an interview/double-sized poster of the Nolans (I used to fancy cute Coleen back then!), comic strips of popular shows of the days such as CHiPs, Worzel Gummidge and Buck Rogers In the 25th Century plus a strip featuring those nutty boys Madness! Plus posters of Aston Villa/England player Gary Shaw and Mike Nolan from Bucks Fizz. Interesting fact of the day: Mike dislikes smoking, punk rock and traffic jams. Thanks to Eddy for saving us the effort of time travelling back to 1981 and spending 18p!
