Following on from the Music of ITC post, here's another couple of reposts which recently met an early demise via the Rapidshare removalholics... So if you want 'em then get 'em while you can, folks!
I ripped and posted these years back in my very early Cosmoblog days but I could have sworn I'd also reposted them on this here CosmoBells at some point - but after checking the archives it seems I was well wrong! So, anyway, here they are now for your delectation - two of the finest cult tv theme collections ever released: The Return of Cult Fiction and Cult Fiction Royale. The Return of Cult Fiction is a pretty decent compilation - highlights include Dennis Waterman's full theme song from Minder: "I Could Be So Good For You" (always worth hearing for the line: "I can even help you breathe!"), Alan Tew's theme to the Two Ronnies sketch "The Detectives", Mike Post's classic theme to Magnum P.I., and Alan Hawkshaw's original classic Grange Hill theme, amongst a few others. Well, I say two of the finest - but the fact is that I would rate Return of Cult Fiction as a "very good" rather than "excellent". But Cult Fiction Royale is another story...

Cult Fiction Royale, in my opinion, is the creme de la creme of cult theme collections - I've had this cd since it was originally released in 1997 and only a few other comps have come close to beating or equal it. I mean - it really has it all! This superb 2-disc compilation features the full versions to tons of cult tv theme classics (along with a smattering of movie themes and lounge classics) - including Tony Christie's classic "Avenues & Alleyways" from The Protectors, Supercar,The New Avengers, Crown Court (oh yes!), Hill Street Blues, Whodunnit (the cult Jon Pertwee panel game show which I'm still awaiting a dvd release of), Tiswas, Fireball XL5, Man In A Suitcase, Get Carter, Sapphire & Steele, U.F.O., The Baron, Captain Scarlet, the action packed 80s hit Dempsey & Makepeace...
...and the truly excellent full themes to Tales Of The Unexpected and Return of the Saint, amongst many, many others. You also get the 12" version of Blueboy's rather good "Theme From The Professionals" remix. Originally released during the mid-90s easy listening/lounge/cult tv and 70s funk craze that swept Britain for a few years (and which spawned brief success for the likes of Mike Flowers), these compilations are a must-own for connoisseurs of easy/lounge/library/cult tv music.
