CUMBRIAN SPACEWOMAN - LIQUID SPACE
So here's the second of two obscure sci-fi influenced albums. This one is by the brilliantly named Cumbrian Spacewoman! Never heard of them/her but an intriguing find nonetheless. Apparently the band members were a mixed-European bunch of German, Scottish and Czech who all met at college. Liquid Space is a weird and wonderful mix of progressive rock, disco funk and atmospheric Jean Michel Jarre-ish ambience. Originally released in Germany in 1980 (according to the liner notes - apparently it was a very poor seller, the band more-or-less disbanded afterwards and original vinyl copies are very hard to find as most of the unsold copies were melted down), this here is the recent limited edition remastered release.
